LEVI
TIER was recently contacted by Riverside County Department of Animal Services regarding the stallions being housed at the San Jacinto facility. September 2017 Animal Services once more received a report of horse neglect at the same property Iris & Maisie came from. The horses were at the property during the March 2016 investigation. However, they were in much better condition than the other 23 seized by officers last year and were allowed to remain at that time. After a new report of neglect this year, the owner relinquished ownership of all the now underweight Thoroughbreds.

That said, TIER has taken in ID#A1393320 a 10 yr. old gray stallion.

We have identified this horse via the Jockey Club and his registered name is Gray Facts.

THANK YOU to Dana S. for making the journey with me to San Jacinto to pick him up. Dana will also be fostering this boy for a time. He will be having his feet done on Tuesday and we have an appointment to have him gelded on Wednesday once we can arrange transport. He will also have an overall health checkup at that time. He is underweight and not in the best condition at the moment. Just give him time and I am sure he will be stunning!

ADOPTED!!!!!

Updates

11/26/2020 - Thanksgiving Day 2020

From Levi's adoptive Mom, Allie:  I’m thankful for a lot of things, but today I am especially thankful for this handsome boy and all the people who helped bring him into my life

8/7/2020 - I Love and I am Loved!

Just a little update on Levi from his Adoptive Mom.

I’m super proud of him!  There was some major craziness last night because city of San Dimas set up a drive in movie night in the dirt lot right next to the barn. Levi was a little hot on the lunge line but as soon as I got on his back he settled down and went to work. Didn’t spook or anything. He looked around a bit but didn’t seem worried at all and we had a great ride. I love him so much!!

5/9/2020 - Hittin the Trails with my New Mom!

From Levi's Mom/Allie:  "Hi Gail! My trainer and I took Levi on his first trail ride here yesterday. He did fantastic! Was totally relaxed the whole time and acted like he’d been doing it for years. He’s learning so quickly and I am having so much fun with him. He’s so affectionate. Sometimes I put him in turnout while I ride my other horse and as soon as he sees me coming back to get him he starts nickering. Thank you for helping to bring him into my life."

We just love your update Allie!  He truly picked you because he wasn't an overly affectionate horse previously.  Other folks had been interested in him but .... He was waiting for YOU!  Thank you for the update!!

4/26/2020 - New Home & New Friends!

Levi is settling in nicely in his new home with Allie and her other horse.  From Allie:  "When I was a kid I said I would never own a gray horse.... MAN was I wrong!  I’ve become the Gray Gelding Girl.  I also think I have two GREAT horses!"  (Levi is in the purple halter)

4/25/2020 - It's Official - Levi is Adopted!!

Woot! Woot!  It is official....Levi (Gray Facts) has been adopted!

Happy Trails to Levi!! He was rescued in 2017 as a 10 year old, neglected TB stallion by TIER Equine rescue. He’s been rehabbing and being trained at Foster Mom - Dana S. place since and he was certainly a handful at first. He has developed into a gorgeous, sweet, brave boy with beautiful movement. Dana's daughter's friend from Cal Poly has adopted him.

They are going to be a great team. She is going to be jumping him and riding trail. It’ll be so nice to be able to follow along. It takes a village and time but Dana did it the right way with this boy.

A lot of people had a hand in bringing him along. We are all so proud of him! Dana and TIER are  so glad he has his own person, dedicated to him now.

4/25/2020 - Home at Last!

4/23/2020 - ADOPTION PENDING

Looks like Levi may have very well found his very own person.  Keep your fingers crossed for him!  Potential Adopter had her 2nd working session with him today, and if everything was okay, she will have her 3rd and final session on Saturday.  Hoping this works out for them both!

10/24/2019 - I'm ready for a partner! Adopt me!

Link to Levi's Youtube video:  https://youtu.be/6VuRXR4Unc0

2 years after being rescued, Gray Facts (Levi) is doing great. This is all thanks to foster Mom, Dana Lees Stark, who has put time and effort into helping Levi become the best he can be.

Hats off to Travis Johnson & Dana for starting him right and to Daniella for riding/schooling him. He got a late start on training as he had been at a Thoroughbred Facility along with many others and nothing was done for him. He's come a long, long way and is ready for his new person to partner with. He should have an advanced intermediate rider who WILL continue to work with him several times a week.

Lookin GOOD Levi! Thank you for being there for him Dana! (If interested in adopting Levi, please contact Dana to schedule an appointment. Serious inquiries only please.)

7/18/2019 - Acupuncture thanks to my Foster Mom!

Acupuncture afternoon with Dr. He is better every time. Levi gets soooo sleepy his eyelashes start fluttering, lip drooping and it takes him a little while to wake up!

5/11/2018

Levi participated in a Dressage test and it was his first time to town! Progress for the boy in the loving hands of Dana!

He is on the road to becoming a nice horse for someone thanks to Dana.

He may have brought home a ribbon, but the lessons continue and so does his progress!

3/3/2018 - Peek A Boo Horse

Levi: The Peek A Boo Horse
He certainly wants to keep an eye on what's going on and scout for treats!  He's doing very well at his foster home.

10/19/2017 - Newest Gelding with a NEW Barn Name: LEVI

Huge thanks to Ingrid L. for transporting Gray Facts, now known as Levi, all the way to our vet yesterday and bringing him back to his Foster location this morning. Due to the heat, traffic and being gelded, we thought it was best for Levi to stay overnight and be transported back this morning when it was cooler. THANK YOU INGRID L.

WOW, Thank you to EVERYONE that came up with Barn Name suggestions. There were so many to choose from it was mind-boggling. But, then again, my mind is easily boggled! All the suggestions were really good and it took us some time to settle on the name Levi.

He had his long overdue for a trim feet taken care of the day before the surgery and was ouchy on hard ground. Good thing his Foster Mom has such a nice/soft stall for him. He will be on Uniprim antibiotics for a bit, hosed and exercised daily to make sure the incisions drain, and to keep swelling down.

Levi sure was glad to get back to familiar ground. As soon as he unloaded from the trailer he started walking at a pretty good clip back to his stall. When his halter was removed he made a beeline for his stall.

10/16/2017 - A STALLION?? !!

We have identified this via the Jockey Club and his registered name is Gray Facts.  His Great Grandsire on his sire's (Faculty) side was Sham who came in 2nd behind Secretariat in the 99th running of the Kentucky Derby, May 5, 1973.

His grandsire on his Dam's (Sweet Character) side was Bold Bidder.  He was an outstanding stallion. The sire of fifty-three stakes winners, including two Kentucky Derby winners.  Cannonade & Spectacular Bid.

(Picture above was taken at the shelter)

THANK YOU to Dana S. for making the journey with me to San Jacinto to pick him up.  Dana will also be fostering this boy for a time.  He will be having his feet done on Tuesday and we have an appointment to have him gelded on Wednesday once we can arrange transport.  He will also have an overall health checkup at that time.  He is underweight and not in the best condition at the moment.  Just give him time and I am sure he will be stunning!!
