Guess what we did last night?? Kristi's kids ages 10 and 6 rode Jet! We just ponied them around on her bareback, she is a great babysitter. The kids fight over who's horse she really is, it is hilarious! Kristi groomed her up really nice and braided her tail, she looks good. She is enjoying her rice Bran that she just started on too... Her peeing issue is much better now... Jo Jo will begin taking a bit in her mouth and will be lunged with a saddle on next week. I'll let you know how that goes :) Her personality comes out more and more....She is a very cute brat!

2/10/2007 - Skyline Jet has been adopted!

Jet & her new mom Kristy are looking forward to years of blossoming together. Both of these gals are so level headed and we cannot wait for updates of their progress! Congratulations Kristy & Jet!!!

4/22/2005 - It's a girl!

In the wee hours of the morning on April 19, 2005 a vibrant spark of life arrived as Skyline Jet gave birth to a wonderous little filly! Welcome to our world Banjo Jet (Jo-Jo)!

Jet needs to fina a home ASAP!

The pregnant PMU mare, Skyline Jet arrived at TIER a couple weeks ago. She is filling out and shedding like crazy!! We had hoped to have her feet done as they are really in need of a trim. Michael Lagrone, the barefoot trimmer from Oklahoma, was here and we attempted to address Jet&rsquos feet. It was raining, mud up to your ankles and Jet let us know that picking up her feet wasn&rsquot something she is used to!! Since conditions were not the best, it was decided to wait until things dry out before we try again. We didn&rsquot want Jet or Michael hurt as it seems that Jet has not had her feet handled in the past.

When the announcement went out that Jet was coming and was available for adoption right away, we had two people who were adamant that they wanted to give Jet and her soon to be baby a home. Now that she is here, neither of these people have returned phone calls or e-mails letting them know that she is waiting to go to a new home.

Jet needs to find a home ASAP as she is likely to foal in April.

Jet is a sweet mare, but it is obvious that she has not been handled a whole lot. She does lead, but is a little confused on backing up, etc., but she learns quickly. She is unaccustomed to eating carrots or other treats. She is currently being fed Pawier vitamins, pellets, Timothy, Orchard & alfalfa hay. She is a petite girl, although I have not measured her, I don&rsquot think she is over 15 hands, if that!

We only had the one picture of Jet which showed her left side. I had wondered what kind of markings she might have on her right side. Well, today we received her registration papers which have a picture of her as a wee tiny baby AND it shows her right side!!

Click here to see her registration papers.

Wasn't she just the cutest baby?? Of course, she is now a lovely full grown girl and we are anxiously awaiting her arrival in the next few weeks!

We were contacted by a compassionate lady regarding a PMU mare (possibly in foal) that needs a home. The mare is one of many in Canada that would most likely be sent to slaughter if a buyer and a home could not be found. We explained that at this time we were not in a financial position to purchase/ transport/ Coggins any PMU horses, and that all our funds are earmarked for feed for our current rescues. This wonderful lady has already arranged to take in several mares and indicated she was willing to pay the costs involved to get her here if we could take her in and find her a home. This lady reached out to get this mare out of harm&rsquos way.

So, please join us welcoming Skyline Jet - 1996 APHA Sorrell Frame Overo Mare, halter broke, exposed to APHA Tobiano stallion Laredo Banjo for 2005 foal.

LAREDO BANJO

Although Jet is not here yet (arrival date to be announced) she is available for adoption NOW as we hope to find her a home quickly.
