This
very lovely and moving photograph was sent to me from a gentleman
who does Greyhound Rescue and also helps horses in need.
The
following is the lovely note David sent along:

Dear Gail,
I thought
you might like the photo of Ace (the horse) and Blackie (hound)
which is titled "MEETING OF THE RACERS."
The photo
was taken by John Mottern in 1989 and won The Boston Globe's "Best
nature Picture" award that year. The lady in the photo is
a friend of mine who's the director of a well-known Greyhound
adoption group near Boston.
Ace looks
much more confident than does Blackie, doesn't he? Blackie is
displaying common "Greyhoundish" body language when
one is a bit unsure or tentative! <smile>
Both retirees
are at The Bridge and both knew love until the very end. And that's
what it's all about, isn't it?
Anyway, I
hope you like it!
Best wishes,
David
